With this nationally recognised qualification, you will qualify as an in-demand learning support officer or teacher aide in the rapidly growing Education sector. There has been a high demand for Teacher Aide’s since 2011 and the demand is expected to grow in the coming years. The growth in number of job openings by 2023 is expected to rise to 133,500.
You will develop skills and knowledge to work with teachers to create a comfortable and supportive environment for children’s learning. To achieve a CHC30213 Certificate III in Education support, a total of 17 units of competency must be completed 12 core units, plus 5 elective units.
Upon successful completion of this qualification you may continue your studies and undertake the following:
- CHC30113 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care
- CHC40213 Certificate IV in Education Support
The CHC30213 Certificate III in Education Support consists of a range of practical tasks and in order to meet workplace experience and job role expectations, students should be physically, mentally and emotionally healthy to meet duty of care obligations.
It is expected that applicants for entry to this programme will:
- A minimum of school certificate or equivalent

National Criminal History Check / Working with Vulnerable People Check
Students will be required to complete and pass a Working with Children Check/Police Clearance in the state or territory that they are working in prior to commencing child related work (this includes work placement). Insight Training’s selection criteria will take into account various factors when deciding upon which students will be offered places in the program including;
- The students’ needs and desired outcomes
- The ability and commitment of the students to complete the course;
- Eligibility requirements listed in the applicable National Training Package;
- Students existing ability in the ACSF core skills, (learning, reading, writing, oral communication and numeracy)
Students not meeting these requirements will be directed to more suitable qualifications or skill development programs.
