Course Requirements

To attain the SIR40316 Certificate IV in Retail Management 11 units must be successfully completed comprising of 7 core and 4 elective units. Students should select elective units according to their intended work environment and industry requirements.

Qualification Pathway

This qualification provides a pathway to work in a diverse range of retail settings including speciality retailers, supermarkets, department stores, and quick service restaurants.

After achieving this qualification individuals may undertake:

  • SIR50116 Diploma of Retail Leadership

Entry Requirements

Entry to this qualification is open to individuals who:

  • Have achieved a Certificate III in Retail or
  • Have relevant industry employment experience in a job role that has involved the application of skills and knowledge described in core units of competency from the SIR30216 Certificate III in Retail.
    • You will be required to undertake a RPL process to determine your competency in the job role.

Work Placement

Participants must undertake a minimum of 120 hours of work experience if not currently employed in one of the career opportunities on this page. This work experience must be recorded in a work experience log book. A Insight Training Trainer/Assessor will visit participants in the workplace to assess the skills required in this qualification.
