Is it possible to work in education or childcare without completing a course?
Most employers in the childcare industry look to hire qualified individuals; those without a qualification must show they are working towards completing one. This means enrolling on a Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care within three months of starting employment.
Similarly, while you can work in school-based education support without a Certificate III qualification, the preference is definitely that employees have one.
Therefore, we recommend you complete a Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care or a Certificate III in School Based Education Support as a minimum to enhance your skills and employment opportunities. Those already working in childcare and looking to progress their career may consider other courses at Insight Training, such as:
CHC50121 Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care
The diploma prepares you for supervisory and managerial roles and serves as a stepping stone to further qualifications such as a Bachelor of Education degree.
