FAQs
Insight Training offers various courses to help upskill individuals for a career in education or childcare, including:
Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care
Certificate III in School Based Education Support
Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care
Each course differs in length depending on the qualification and student’s individual needs, although we aim to prepare people for the workplace as quickly as possible. We find most of our students complete a level III certificate in 5-6 months, and a diploma in 12 months.
Most employers in the childcare industry look to hire qualified individuals; those without a qualification must show they are working towards completing one. This means enrolling on a Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care within three months of starting employment.
Similarly, while you can work in school-based education support without a Certificate III qualification, the preference is definitely that employees have one.
Therefore, we recommend you complete a Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care or a Certificate III in School Based Education Support as a minimum to enhance your skills and employment opportunities. Those already working in childcare and looking to progress their career may consider other courses at Insight Training, such as:
CHC50121 Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care
The diploma prepares you for supervisory and managerial roles and serves as a stepping stone to further qualifications such as a Bachelor of Education degree.
Every student has different circumstances and needs from the next one. While some complete their course within six months, others will take a little longer – it all depends on the course and the student’s ability to commit to it.
The good news is, once you complete your course with Insight Training, you will have all the skills and knowledge to support your chosen career path.
Our Early Childhood Education and Care or School Based Education Support courses consist of learning theoretical knowledge and practical skills studied in a classroom, online and over a set number of hours in an approved workplace.
All courses consist of a set number of core and elective units, which students must pass successfully and complete their work placement. The type and quantity of units differ with each course.
To understand more about the elective units in each course, please select the individual course page and refer to the ‘Course description’ and ‘Course structure’ drop-down sections.
