This nationally recognised qualification will prepare you to work as a highly sought-after learning support officer or teacher aide in the rapidly growing education sector. There has been a high demand for teacher aides since 2011, and is expected to continue increasing in the coming years. By 2024, the number of job openings is projected to reach 133,500. Throughout this program, you will develop the skills and knowledge necessary to collaborate with teachers in creating a supportive learning environment for children. Additionally, you will gain the expertise required to implement planned educational programs, contribute to student education across all development domains, and assist in organising and managing classrooms or centers.
To achieve a Certificate III in School Based Education Support, a total of fifteen (15) units of competency must be completed, ten (10) core and five (5) elective units.

Entry requirements specific to education and child care
You must be at least 16 years old to work in this field. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must sign your enrolment form. According to Section 120 of the Education and Care National Regulations 2011, if you’re under 18 and working at a centre-based service, you must always be supervised by an adult at least 18.
Before starting any child-related work or work placement, you must complete and pass a Working with Children Check/Police Clearance in the state or territory where you’ll be working. It’s important to respond appropriately to children’s needs, remain calm in high-stress situations, and communicate effectively in difficult or dangerous situations.
Additionally, you should have a reasonable fitness level to handle physical tasks such as standing, lifting, bending, twisting and reaching.
The duration of the CHC30221 Certificate III in School Based Education Support can range from 6 months to 24 months. Additionally, the course requires 100 hours of work placement, with classes held at Insight Training’s Rockingham and Morley campuses.
