Course Requirements
Students are to complete a total of 18 units of competency (15 core units and 3 elective units) to achieve the CHC43015 Certificate IV in Ageing Support.
Students must also complete 120 logged hours working in an Approved Service. If students are not already working in an aged care facility, they are encouraged to find their own suitable work placement location. Each student receives a Practicum Booklet, which includes details of tasks to be completed during placement and space to record their hours.
A Trainer/Assessor will visit the workplace to assess whether the student has achieved the skills required for the qualification.
Qualification Pathway
Become certified in aged care with a CHC43015 Cert IV in Ageing Support available in Perth and regional WA as well as Queensland. After achieving this qualification, students may choose to study the following qualification:
Entry Requirements
It is preferred that students have obtained a minimum of a School Certificate or equivalent. On completing the course, students are required to undergo the following checks* before they can begin working in the aged care sector:

Insight Training’s selection criteria will take into account various factors when deciding upon which students will be offered places in the program including;
- The students’ needs and desired outcomes
- The ability and commitment of the students to complete the course;
- Eligibility requirements listed in the applicable National Training Package;
- Students existing ability in the ACSF core skills, (learning, reading, writing, oral communication and numeracy)
Students not meeting these requirements will be directed to more suitable qualifications or skill development programs.
