To achieve a Certificate IV in School Based Education Support, a total of seventeen (17) units of competency must be completed, thirteen (13) core and four (4) elective units.

To meet the role expectations students should be physically, mentally and emotionally healthy to meet duty of care obligations. It is preferred that applicants for entry to this program have a National Criminal History Check, and a minimum of a school certificate or equivalent

Entry requirements specific to education and child care
You must be at least 16 years old to work in this field. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must sign your enrolment form. According to Section 120 of the Education and Care National Regulations 2011, if you’re under 18 and working at a centre-based service, you must always be supervised by an adult at least 18.
Before starting any child-related work or work placement, you must complete and pass a Working with Children Check/Police Clearance in the state or territory where you’ll be working. It’s important to respond appropriately to children’s needs, remain calm in high-stress situations, and communicate effectively in difficult or dangerous situations.
Additionally, you should have a reasonable fitness level to handle physical tasks such as standing, lifting, bending, twisting and reaching.
